I wish I could hear my grandfather talk and share Anishinaabe customs with me again. Sadly, in his day, there was no such thing as a recorder. Now he’s gone and I no longer have that opportunity. The mission of Ki’eshgitabaaning Cultural and Healing Lodge is to leave behind a legacy that my grandfather and other Elders of his generation could not. These recordings give voice to the stories, traditions, and songs passed on by previous generations and preserves them for generations to come.
