Traditional Healing Clinic

DURATION
1 to 3 days depending on community needs.

NOTICE TO COMMUNITY:
A notice to Community is released and the sponsoring organization gathers the names of clients. The clients must be committed and show up 1 hour before the scheduled appointment.

INTAKE:
Upon entering the building our helper takes the name, clan of the client and writes down information regarding what the client is seeking. The paper is given to the Elder.

What is administered and instructions are written down by the Elder for the client to take with them.

CLIENTS:
Up to 6 people per day are seen, approximately 1 hour duration.

HEALING ROOM:
Space is made available where smudge, smoking is allowed.
Space has to be big enough to conduct Traditional Healing Ceremony.

TRADITIONAL MEDICINE:
We carry over 250 Traditional Medicines locally sourced and picked from Lake of the Woods, which are visible and administered following Traditional Midewiin Healing Protocols.

ELDERS:
Up to 4 Elders are in TRADITIONAL HEALING ROOM.

CLIENTS:
The Traditional Healing Clinic will have the person seeking help and/or a support person with them. Clients are to offer Tobbacco to the Elders upon entering. It is a custom to provide an offering to the Elders.

BUILDING:
The Traditional Healing Clinic shall have absolutely no disruptions or outside noise.

REFRESHMENTS:
Beverages and snacks are readily available for the Elders and helper.

LUNCH:
Lunch is to be provided at 12 noon.

BEING PRESENT:
Clients and supporters will not be allowed to bring in cell phones.

LODGING:
It will be the sponsoring organization to provide lodging in a quiet undisturbed environment.
